Corey Wasley’s Resume

Objective

Results-driven Certified Equity Professional (CEP) committed to optimizing employee equity experiences and streamlining equity data management processes. Utilizing my attention to detail, strong understanding of stock plan administration fundamentals, and strong technical skills, I aim to drive efficiency and accuracy while ensuring seamless equity administration for employees and stakeholders.

Experience

August 2023 – Current
Equity Manager
Better Home & Finance

At Better, I oversee the management of the stock plan and equity issuance for employees and contractors. Notably, I helped Better with their equity plan data conversion and migration from a private to a public company after it’s deSPAC. In this process, I have gained extensive familiarity with Carta, UBS Plan Admin Pro, and Computershare. In addition to my core responsibilities, which include processing RSU vestings, facilitating ISO/NSO exercises, managing new grant setups, and handling termination-related cancellations, I have spearheaded various audits. These audits have resulted in identifying and rectifying award issues, leading to substantial savings for the company, both in terms of cash and shares within the plan, totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars. Collaboration is critical to this role. I frequently interact with our Accounting and Finance teams to assist with reporting and researching questions related to financial reporting. I interface with our Legal team providing data for numerous legal filings including Form 4, S-8, and 10-K. I work with our People team to ensure new hires get their grants setup and terminated employees have their awards handled properly. I provide daily assistance to employees, ensuring they understand the value of their stock awards through context and reporting.
October 2021 – August 2023
Client Service Manager
Charles Schwab | Stock Plan Services

In this role, I played a pivotal role in administering and overseeing stock plans for multiple public companies, including those on the Fortune 500 list. Primarily, I interacted with the Stock Plan Administrators within each company via weekly calls and collaborated with Client Service Administrators on my team. Management and administration tasks included ensuring accurate tax application for Stock Option Exercises and Restricted Stock settlements, setting up new awards, managing Employee Stock Purchase Plans (ESPPs), and the settlement of shares and cash upon vesting or exercise, all within the EquiView platform that I am an expert with. My engagements spanned across companies with global operations. My contributions were acknowledged with an Ownership in Action award for my participation on our Resource Guide Committee, where I documented processes for our team reflecting my dedication to fostering knowledge sharing.
June 2018 – October 2021
Service Desk Supervisor
Arapahoe County Government

During my time at Arapahoe County Government, I supervised a team of four that provided comprehensive Information Technology support to Arapahoe County Government employees. Key projects I took the lead on include launching a new security management program, defining processes for a new data backup system in the county, setting up automatic employee onboarding and offboarding, and several projects related to improving services at the Service Desk as improving the employee experience was my primary goal.
January 2017 – June 2018
Level 2 Technical Support
FRONTSTEPS

During my time at FRONTSTEPS, I demonstrated my value as a proactive team member, earning me rapid promotion. While working in technical support, one of my key contributions was that I created professional documentation for both our internal Knowledge Base and documentation that was sent to our customer base. In recognition of my dedication and capabilities, I was promoted to the newly established Level 2 team. On this newly created team, I helped develop the processes of the team and worked directly with the developers of our product on improvements, changes, and fixes. Our primary focus was prioritizing new requests, bug fixes, and changes. I received the 2017 Annual FRONTSTEPS Core Values Award for my contributions to the company.
July 2010 – January 2017
Computer Services Specialist
Valdosta State University

During my time at Valdosta State University, I managed the IT Service Desk, which eventually became the VSU Solutions Center, with two full-time staff members and seventeen part-time employees reporting to me. The VSU Solutions Center provides phone, email, and walk-in support to the campus prospective and current students, staff, and faculty for IT, Admissions, and Welcome Center inquiries. In my position, I valued interdepartmental interactions and constantly worked with key stakeholders. I was nominated for an employee of the semester award and won the Chancellor’s Service Excellence Gold Award demonstrating my commitment to excellence.
